It all started with a video on Youtube that changed my perspective of making money forever. It was a video made by a woman who said that “Adsense changed my life”. It was inspiring because the woman said that she was doing research on how to make money from home (while in her 30’s) and she came across a tutorial on building her own website. From there she built the website on Home Decor and after putting in 2 posts per day for 3 years she started earning money, thousands of dollars. She said she then bought a house and worked from home from then on.
From there I knew what I wanted to do with my life, though anyone that I told about this thought I was a bit crazy. Not needing or wanting to go to college (because I didn’t need to) is something most people don’t think of after getting out of high school. But there are some entrepreneurs out there that have left college to start their own businesses, so this at the same time may not suprise some people.
I started a blog in a similar topic, putting in 2 posts per day like she did, and this all started in 2010 (I think). Then, 3 years later, I started to notice traffic picking up. I started earning $100 per month and that was great because I was paying off the hosting fees and earning about $40 extra, so I knew from there I could make more. I just had to put more work into it. Though I kept putting in the same amount of work I usually did, my blog continued to grow. And so did my Technology blog. It was earning $1/day from Adsense. That was a good feeling.
Just after learning about making commissions from Amazon, and adding links to my blog from Amazon, I doubled the $100 per month to $250, with both advertising companies combined, Amazon and Adsense. And my site just continued to grow from there. It doesn’t seem like it was a lot but this was way more than making nothing at all. And grow it did, eventually I was making about $500 per month from both Amazon and Adsense.
Like I said this does not seem like a lot but it was good extra money. I remember I told a friend and he was like “seriously?, my rent is that much!” and I was like “yeah, it works”. And after that he kept asking me about it and what happened later on (which is kind of sad) I will explain later. I don’t want to pour too much into this post and reveal too much. You can read more of what happened after this here.
Before I finish this post ill just say that with that extra $500/month I was making from blogs, my total income per month (combined with work) was $30,000 per month, which was way more than I had ever made before. I have a disability and I can’t really make any more than minimum wage so, this was a great achievement for me. Anyways, that’s all I have to write for now.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my story, I hope you found it inspiring (at least a little bit). You can earn way more than this, this was just the beginning.
